CyberLeek prices a GTA 6 leak at a $30 million meme coin market cap

Anonymous leaker CyberLeek says it will release a full GTA 6 build if its meme coin reaches a $30 million market cap before the November 19 launch. The coin was worth about $2.87 million on October 11, Wolf's Gaming Blog reported, roughly a tenth of what the threat requires.

Two bars for the CYBERLEEK coin's reported market value: about $23.4 million at the peak of the August campaign, then about $3.2 million the day after August 26.

What happened

  • CyberLeek's October 10 statement offered Take-Two one way to stop the release: ship GTA 6 on physical discs and apologise publicly.
  • During an August campaign of 15 clips, the same coin reportedly reached about $23.4 million before falling to roughly $3.2 million on August 27.
  • Take-Two and Rockstar subpoenaed Discord and Microsoft in August for user records tied to the leaked videos, and there has been no public update since.

Why it matters

  • exposure Buyers chasing the $30 million trigger take on the price risk, and the last campaign on this coin left it 86% below its peak by August 27.
  • constraint Because the trigger is price times supply, neither Take-Two nor the coin's buyers can tell from the target how much money would actually have to go in to reach it.
  • decision Take-Two can concede a disc edition its physical release was not built around, or wait out a 40-day window while its subpoenas run.
  • contradiction PC Gamer treats a playable build as established while crypto.news finds no independent proof of a complete one, and the threat only works if the build is complete.

CyberLeek's October 10 statement set its trigger in one line: "CYBERLEEK hits 30 million marketcap, the build goes out" [7]. That trigger is a quoted value. A token's market capitalisation is its circulating supply multiplied by its trading price, crypto.news notes, and it does not measure how much cash buyers have put in or how much any holder could take out [13]. The coin has to rise about 10.5 times from the October 11 snapshot to reach $30 million (or rather, its price times its supply does), a gap of about $27.13 million in quoted value [25][24]. crypto.news says it has not checked that snapshot against a live liquidity pool [23]. PC Gamer put the distance at "another $26 million or so" [22].

The only trading record for this coin is from August. That month the account posted 15 clips, some with crypto promotions and QR codes, and invited token holders to vote on which clip came next, Dot Esports reported [14]. The coin's value reportedly peaked near $23.4 million, 78% of the new target [15][16]. By August 26 it was about $11 million, and a day later about $3.2 million, 86% below the peak [15][17]. The account had withdrawn about $250,000, which Dot Esports described as trading fees [8]. Kotaku described it as $250,000 worth of the coin and linked the withdrawal to the crash [9].

"Take-Two gets one way out: physical disks and a public apology. They can take it at any moment. Or they can gamble that CL is bluffing," CyberLeek wrote [3]. Kotaku wrote that the new threat "just looks like round two of the rug pull" [10].

We see three ways this ends. In the first, the coin stays short of $30 million and the threat runs out at launch, 40 days after the statement [18]. In the second, the coin gets there and the account posts recorded footage of the campaign; crypto.news notes the statement does not say whether "the build" means a playable game or video [19]. In the third, a playable build goes out. We think the first is the likeliest. The only payout on record came from the token, and releasing a build would remove the reason anyone has to buy it [8].

The strongest case against that view is the footage itself. PC Gamer wrote, "We know that Cyberleek has access to a playable build," pointing to an earlier clip that ended with the word LEEK machine-gunned into a wall [21]. Kotaku said the apparent debug-mode footage of a nude Jason, part of about 25 minutes posted on October 8, appeared to reaffirm that theory [5][4]. A playable build is better supported than a complete one. crypto.news found no independent evidence that the account holds the full game, and the threat depends on the game being complete [20]. We would be wrong if the account answers viewer requests with footage from the end of the story, as its statement offers to do [19].

Take-Two has not changed its position. Rockstar's support documentation says the physical edition ships with a download code instead of a disc, and the company has not publicly agreed to change that [12]. Its visible effort is legal. Take-Two and Rockstar subpoenaed Discord and Microsoft in August for user records tied to the videos, and there has been no public update on what Discord handed over [11]. The sources do not include an estimate of what a leak would cost GTA 6 sales, so the exposure for Take-Two holders cannot be sized from this record.

What to watch

  • Whether the CYBERLEEK coin's market value moves from its $2.87 million snapshot toward the $30 million trigger before November 19.
  • What Discord and Microsoft hand over under the August subpoenas, and whether it identifies who runs the account.
  • Any change by Rockstar to the physical edition, which currently ships with a download code instead of a disc.
