The outlook investors rewarded arrived alongside receivables up about 63% to $63.1bn in six months, with five customers holding 70% of that balance and two banks modelling the line $24bn apart by January 2029.

A receivable is revenue the auditors have blessed and the treasury has not banked, so the $24.6bn Nvidia added to that line between January and July [4] is a different animal from the outlook the stock rallied on. The filing rounds it to 63% [3]; the ratio is 63.9% [5]. What makes the six-month clip awkward is that the sell-side models tracking the line assume it does not repeat.
Bank of America's $71bn for January 2027 [9] sits only $7.9bn above July's $63.1bn, about a third of the $24.6bn added in the half before it [11]. Morgan Stanley is more generous at $78.6bn, which is $15.5bn of fresh unpaid invoices over the same six months [18] and $7.6bn above BofA's figure [19]. Out at January 2029 the two houses are $24bn apart, $171bn against $147bn [12], which is, near enough, this half's entire receivable increase being argued about as a modelling preference three years out [4]. Both still roughly double the balance from 2027, BofA by around 107% and Morgan Stanley by around 117% [9][10].
Seventy per cent of $63.1bn is $44.2bn [8], an average of $8.8bn owed by each of the five direct customers Nvidia disclosed, most of it large cloud providers [20][6]. A year earlier the same disclosure read three customers at 56% [7], and the honest caveat is that the source gives no year-ago receivable base, so that 56% cannot be converted into dollars here. More names, larger share.
This is probably wrong, but the version of the thesis I would defend rests on slow cash, not bad credit: the demand signal buyers paid 9% up for [1] is increasingly carried on the seller's balance sheet. There is a straightforward counterargument to this. Receivables scale with revenue, and five hyperscale counterparties are close to the best corporate credit available. If revenue also grew 63.9% across the half, days sales outstanding did not move, and there is nothing here [5]. The source does not print the revenue line, so that ratio is not derivable from this material, and a DSO quoted off these two numbers alone is a guess.
The thesis breaks if the next quarter shows receivables growing slower than revenue. It breaks more quietly if the concentration disclosure drifts back toward three names [7].
Gil Luria, tech research head at D.A. Davidson, told CNBC the line is "worth keeping an eye on", adding that "the numbers are so big and they're making really big commitments way out into the future" [13]. Note what the cash is doing meanwhile, or rather what management is choosing to fund while $63.1bn sits uncollected: a reported $12.9bn for Hugging Face, sourced to one person with direct knowledge, with Business Insider putting it only at "in talks" [14], plus engineering time spent optimising for DeepSeek V4 Flash, Alibaba's Qwen 3.8 and Google's models [15] even as the company tells the SEC that White House rules aimed at Chinese-origin AI could hurt parts of the business [16]. Money is flowing toward developer distribution while invoices pile up with five clouds.

Nvidia's net accounts receivable climbed about 63% between January and July, from $38.5 billion to $63.1 billion.
Nvidia said five direct customers made up 70% of total receivables, with large cloud providers accounting for most.
One year earlier, three direct customers made up 56% of total receivables in the same period.
Bank of America expects Nvidia's receivables to reach about $71 billion in January 2027, then $113 billion in 2028 and $147 billion in 2029, an increase of around 107% from 2027 through 2029.
Morgan Stanley expects Nvidia's receivables to go from about $78.6 billion in January 2027 to $171 billion in January 2029, roughly 117% growth.
D.A. Davidson tech research head Gil Luria told CNBC of the receivables line, "It's worth keeping an eye on," adding, "We have to pay close attention, because the numbers are so big and they're making really big commitments way out into the future."

Evidence-backed comparisons of source perspectives and observed adoption signals. Read the methodology
Which Builder, Operator, and Investor concerns the observed source mix emphasized—not a truth score.
Evidence, demonstrated adoption, hype gap, incentives, and confidence are assessed independently, each on its own current evidence. How these are measured.
Single-outlet relay of company figures, with an internal contradiction
The financial specifics (receivable balances, concentration percentages, two named bank forecast paths, an on-record analyst quote) are precise and traceable to a quarterly report and SEC filing, which lifts evidence above weak. But everything reaches us through one crypto-markets outlet with no primary filing link, the article contradicts itself on the share move, and its largest strategic claim - a $12.9bn acquisition - rests on a single anonymous account plus a weaker second-hand 'in talks' characterisation.
Real disclosed balances and a shipped optimization program; commercial outcome unproven
Adoption is anchored in disclosure rather than promise: $63.1bn of booked-but-unpaid sales concentrated in five named-category buyers is evidence of very large committed purchasing, and the open-model optimization program is described as already announced. It is held below high because customer identities, payment terms and any developer uptake of the optimization initiative are not disclosed, and the platform acquisition that would broaden reach is unconfirmed.
Rally framing overstates a self-contradicted move and an unconfirmed deal
The source's promotional framing runs ahead of its own evidence: it inflates the share move to 9% in the bullets against 7% in the body, states as fact an acquisition its own text hedges, and headlines demand strength while burying the concentration data that qualifies it. Working the other way, the receivable and concentration figures themselves are reported plainly and the divergence between bank models is understated in the narrative, which keeps the gap moderate rather than severe.
Nearly every voice is talking its own book
Incentive pressure is visible across the piece. Nvidia is quoted only through an unnamed employee arguing that the world should standardise on the American stack, and simultaneously lobbies against open-weight rules alongside Microsoft, Meta and Palantir while warning regulators in its SEC filing. The two receivable forecasts come from sell-side banks that cover the stock, the cautionary quote comes from a research house, and the publisher is a retail-facing crypto-markets outlet running a 'why is it soaring' frame with a newsletter promotion and an investment disclaimer.
Moderate-low: figures are usable, framing and the deal are not
Confidence is limited by the one-source cluster and the article's demonstrated accuracy lapse, but the balance-sheet and forecast numbers are specific, attributed to identifiable primary documents and named institutions, and internally consistent under arithmetic checks - so the core receivables-concentration story can be relied on provisionally while the share move and acquisition cannot.
