Olyzon puts budget-moving agents above the DSPs agencies already run
Olyzon launched agents that move live campaign budgets across four DSPs and direct deals while agencies keep their existing tools. The bet is that agencies will pay for a coordinating layer that no single inventory owner controls.

What happened
- Supply connections include Universal Ads, Vibe, Spotify and PubMatic, while DoubleVerify, Xpln, Lucid and Innovid cover measurement and verification.
- Olyzon began in May 2024 as a connected-TV business, and the new platform extends it to YouTube, social, digital audio and digital out-of-home.
- Magnite introduced Magnite Orchestration in June, a layer linking buyer agents to Magnite's own seller agent and premium inventory.
- By June 2025 Olyzon said it had powered hundreds of CTV campaigns for brands including DoorDash, Mastercard and Audi, without independently audited performance figures.
Why it matters
- decision Agencies now have to choose where agent orchestration sits: above their own DSPs with a third party, or inside one seller's supply as Magnite has built it.
- constraint Olyzon executes no transactions itself, so any DSP that narrows what outside agents may change also narrows what Olyzon can do for a buyer.
- exposure The agency sets the thresholds that decide which daily budget changes reach a human, so a mis-set limit is the agency's to catch in the audit log.
Olyzon wants to own the decision layer. The established platforms keep executing the transactions and supplying the inventory [4]. The agent sits above the tools a media team already runs and routes work among them [3]. It works inside budget limits and approval thresholds the buyer sets [3]. Its changes pass through a human approval path and are recorded in an audit log [6]. "The agent does the orchestration. The human keeps the decision," Minvielle said in the announcement [5].
Direct deals get the most careful handling. Insertion-order campaigns enter the workflow through an email agent, and the buyer keeps control of sending the order [2]. Email is the one integration every agency already has. I think holding back the send is the correct default, because an insertion order commits spend and the person accountable for that spend should be the one who releases it.
The neutral pitch starts with breadth. The launch names 12 partner integrations across buying, supply and measurement [17]. Connecting them is the easier half. Runtimewire's analysis says the value depends on "whether the system can reliably compare results across partners, act within buyer-set constraints, and improve outcomes enough to justify another layer" [18]. Comparison is where it can fail. Olyzon has to make better budget calls than the tools that already control buying and reporting data [19], using signals those same tools report. If two DSPs count a conversion differently, an agent that shifts budget toward the higher number is following a gap in definitions.
Runtimewire frames the bet as a neutral layer set against larger adtech players building agent tools around their own inventory and systems [20]. Magnite is the only such player its account names [11]. The account does not describe agent plans from the four DSPs Olyzon connects to [8]. According to Runtimewire, starting from the buyer's side could help with agencies wary of reorganizing around a single inventory owner [12]. In my view the design suits an agency already running more than one of those DSPs. Olyzon leaves the buyer's tools in place [1], so switching the agent off leaves the stack as it was. The company calls the category a "Unified Media Platform", a term of its own that the industry has not settled on [10].
The performance accounts come from Olyzon and its customers. Minvielle said in November 2024 that the company had run 40 campaigns since launch [14]. The launch announcement says the platform now optimizes live campaigns daily [7]. Method1's head of media, analytics and innovation says the agents handle routine budget, bid and bundle-ID decisions [16]. Those are company-supplied testimonials [16]. For one to transfer to another agency, that agency would need a similar DSP and measurement stack, a similar channel mix, and a baseline from before the agent took over.
What to watch
- Independently audited results from an Olyzon customer that state the DSP and measurement mix behind them.
- Whether Amazon DSP, DV360, The Trade Desk or Yahoo DSP ship their own cross-platform agents or restrict what outside agents can change.
- Whether Magnite Orchestration opens to supply beyond Magnite's own relationships.
