Run the shipment figure backwards and the scale stops being rhetorical. China's first-half humanoid shipments are put at 40,000 units, 97 percent of the world total [11]. That leaves roughly 1,240 units for everyone else across six months [1]. The 2,056 robots that 666 teams brought to Beijing [1] come to about 1.7 times that entire non-China half-year figure [2], and about 5 percent of China's own output for the period [3]. The fleet assembled for a sporting fixture was bigger than what the rest of the industry shipped to paying customers in half a year.

One honest limit: the account lists 16 countries but gives no nationality breakdown of the 666 teams [17], so the fourfold jump in machines cannot be assigned to foreign entrants on this evidence. What it can be assigned to is a domestic base large enough that a stadium can be filled with hardware amounting to a rounding error in half-year shipments [3].

With mass production already at 40,000 half-year units, organizers and entrants share a direct interest in demand-generating headline results.
Structural findings solid, headline numbers shaky
Confidence is moderate-low overall: the rulebook change, the persistence of teleoperation in manipulation events, the failure incidents and the event/entrant counts are directly observed and internally coherent, so those hold up.
