Tokenized equities did $66.6 million of the record Aug. 25 print while memecoin pairs fell to 12% of flow. The composition change is real. The dollar displacement is not yet proven.

The interesting engineering is in the pool design. Uniswap's correlated pools pair each single-name token against SPY, so liquidity providers absorb far less impermanent loss than a standard pair would cost them, on the reasoning that a name and the index mostly move together [8]. Ten of those pools cleared $33 million from more than 11,000 traders in twelve days [9], which is roughly $3,000 per trader across the whole stretch, and less than that given the trader count is a floor [10]. Small tickets showing up in bulk is what tighter spreads actually buy.
That protection is conditional, and the condition is correlation. A single stock tracks the index until it reports, and the source's own explanation for the record is traders positioning before Nvidia's post-close earnings on Aug. 26, with NVDA among the chain's most traded tokens [11]. So the venue is recruiting precisely the flow that breaks the assumption its liquidity depth rests on: LPs in a correlated NVDA/SPY pool take the dispersion on the day fee income peaks [12].
The displacement reading also needs one step the dashboard does not supply. Cryptopolitan gives shares, not dollars, for the July comparison: memecoin-versus-stock pairs peaked at 73% of volume on July 26 and printed 12% on Aug. 25, with straight stock trading at 78% [4]. Shares fall when the denominator grows. For memecoin-pair dollars to have been unchanged at $10.4 million, July 26's total would have had to be about $14.3 million [13]. Above that, the memecoin trade genuinely shrank; below it, all that happened is that equities grew faster. The publisher does not print the July 26 total, so the defensible version is the weaker one.
Worth noting what "RWA volume" contains here. ETFs, treasuries and commodities together made $8.1 million, under a tenth of the day [23]. This is a single-name equity venue with a broader label on it.
The floor is where the argument gets settled. Baseline volume sat near $25 million through most of August [14], and the record is 3.4 times that [17]; stock trading alone on Aug. 25 was 2.7 times a normal full day for the entire chain [18]. Cryptopolitan nominates a reset toward $40 million as the test of real user growth, and a fall back to July levels as the sign that Aug. 25 was a catalyst spike [15]. That test asks for a 60% lift in the quiet-day floor [16], which is a large ask from a roster that only just doubled: 100 tokens added this month against a total above 190 means roughly 90 before [6][21].
Two things narrow the window for proving it. Vlad Tenev asked U.S. regulators for a clear tokenized equities framework on Aug. 18, and Coinbase listed tokenized Apple, Nvidia, Meta and Alphabet shares on Base in the same week [19][20]. Round-the-clock access to an earnings reaction is not proprietary to one chain. What is currently proprietary is the SPY-correlated pool structure and the ticker count, and one of those is easy to copy.
Ranked by verification strength, evidence, and original report placement.
Of the Aug. 25 total, $66.6 million came from stock trading, $10.4 million from memecoin-versus-stock pairs, $4.8 million from ETFs and treasuries, and $3.3 million from commodities.
Robinhood Crypto added 100 new stock tokens to the network earlier in August, bringing the total to more than 190.
Uniswap holds close to 99% of stock token liquidity on Robinhood Chain, with v4 accounting for around 73% of that.
Ten of the correlated pools cleared $33 million from more than 11,000 traders inside 12 days.
Robinhood Chain's baseline RWA volume sat near $25 million through most of August.
Robinhood Chain posted $85.1 million in RWA trading volume on Aug. 25, its largest day on record, according to a Dune dashboard compiled by analyst adam_tehc and reported by Cryptopolitan.

Evidence-backed comparisons of source perspectives and observed adoption signals. Read the methodology
Which Builder, Operator, and Investor concerns the observed source mix emphasized—not a truth score.
Evidence, demonstrated adoption, hype gap, incentives, and confidence are assessed independently, each on its own current evidence. How these are measured.
Single-publisher dashboard figures, internally consistent but unverified
Every quantitative claim traces to one crypto-trade article relaying a third-party Dune dashboard, with no primary Robinhood, Uniswap or dashboard-methodology disclosure and no second publisher. The figures are internally coherent, the four reported components sum exactly to the stated $85.1 million total and the derived multiples reconcile with the reported baseline, which raises confidence in the reporting's arithmetic but not in the underlying measurement.
Real but small-scale and concentrated onchain usage
Reported usage is concrete: an $85.1 million record day, a ~$25 million August baseline, 190+ listed stock tokens and more than 11,000 traders clearing $33 million across ten correlated pools in 12 days. Scale remains modest in absolute terms, average volume per trader is only about $3,000 or less, liquidity is almost entirely on one venue, and the peak day is tied to an Nvidia earnings catalyst rather than a demonstrated new floor.
Milestone framing runs slightly ahead of the proven shift
The 'first time past $85 million' framing and the 'completely flipped' user-base narrative overstate what the data establishes: percentage shares are reported without July dollar volumes, so memecoin dollar displacement is unproven, and the record day coincides with an Nvidia earnings catalyst on a 24/7 venue. The overstatement is limited because the same source explicitly discounts the record and tells readers to judge the quiet-day floor instead.
Promotional-adjacent trade coverage of self-interested disclosures
The sole source is a crypto trade outlet closing with a newsletter call to action and an investment disclaimer, relaying metrics that flatter Robinhood, Uniswap and the tokenized-equities narrative generally. Underlying figures come from a named independent dashboard analyst rather than the companies, which tempers the conflict, but no compensation, sponsorship or dashboard-funding disclosure is supplied and the cited regulatory push is from Robinhood's own CEO.
Low-to-moderate: coherent numbers, one publisher, unresolved core test
Confidence is limited by the single-publisher cluster, absence of primary or corroborating data, and the fact that the story's own decisive question, whether the quiet-day floor resets toward $40 million, was unresolved at publication. It is supported by arithmetic consistency across the reported components, multiples and shares, and by the source's explicit hedging.
