One blog post reports an NSA post-quantum deadline of 2027 for national security systems

NSA has moved its post-quantum deadline for National Security Systems to 2027, two years ahead of Cloudflare, Google and Microsoft, a dev.to post reports. That account is secondhand, so whether suppliers to those systems have to re-plan their migrations depends on what the agency's own statement says.

IBM cools and links its first two quantum fridge modules, with Starling still dated 2029

The milestone is packaging, not qubits: box-shaped cryostats that pack in rows, a cold volume 12 times larger, and a coupler meant to knit hundreds of chips into one machine.

One transmon reads and writes seven quantum memory cells through a buffer cavity

Physicists at Stanford, the University of Chicago and SLAC let one superconducting qubit address seven memory cells, at about 1.2% error per access. The tests measured access error, much of it from crosstalk between cells, so the promised cut in wiring per qubit is still a design argument.

Microsoft puts a Majorana 2 machine where DARPA can design its own tests

Maryland has committed $52.5 million of a four-year ceiling of up to $100 million for a Discovery District quantum hub. In exchange, DARPA stops evaluating Microsoft's hardware remotely from Redmond and Europe.
