StablecoinX, a June de-SPAC holding 3 billion ENA, gets a 24-hour token on Binance's bStocks

StablecoinX, on Nasdaq since June 26, now trades 24/7 against USDT on Binance's bStocks, with one custodied share behind each token. The extra hours wrap a company whose value still moves with its main asset, Ethena's ENA governance token.

What happened

  • StablecoinX closed its de-SPAC merger with TLGY Acquisition Corp. on June 25, 2026, two weeks after bStocks opened for tokenized US equities on June 11.
  • The company holds about 3 billion ENA tokens, a stake valued at between $212.9 million and $275 million depending on the date used.
  • It raised around $890 million through a 2025 PIPE backed by Dragonfly and Pantera Capital, and reported total assets of $232.6 million at June 30, 2026.
  • On September 25, 2026, Ethena began integrating bStocks into the strategy behind its USDe stablecoin, aiming at delta-neutral equity basis trades.
  • StablecoinX also runs a decentralized verifier node that had processed $3 billion of cumulative cross-chain volume by August 12, 2026.

Why it matters

  • exposure A buyer of the bStocks token on a Saturday has no Nasdaq trade to arbitrage against until Monday, so the 1:1 custody fixes how many shares sit behind each token but not the price paid for it.
  • constraint Moving the stock onto a 24/7 venue leaves the ENA concentration intact: at the low valuation the stake is about 92% of June 30 assets, so either venue's price is mostly a read on one token.
  • exposure Ethena's equity basis trades and StablecoinX's share token now sit on the same bStocks platform, so a liquidity problem there would hit USDe's backing strategy and the Ethena-linked company together.
  • precedent bStocks has shown it will wrap a stock within months of a de-SPAC. Other recent SPAC issuers now have a template for a 24/7 stablecoin venue, though one listing is the whole evidence so far.

Divide the stake by the token count and the report's own figures put ENA at between roughly 7.1 and 9.2 cents [17]. The two valuations are $62.1 million apart, a 29% move from the low one to the high one [18]. Against the $232.6 million of total assets reported at June 30 [11], the low valuation would make ENA about 92% of everything the company owned. The high one is $42.4 million larger than that whole asset base [19], consistent with the report's note that the figure depends on the valuation date [9].

The PIPE is harder to square. Around $890 million came in across several 2025 tranches [10]. By June 30 the balance sheet showed about 26 cents of assets for each dollar raised, a shortfall of $657.4 million [20]. The report does not break that gap down.

Crypto Briefing, which reported the listing, wrote that tokenizing the stock does not change the company's exposure to ENA [15]. The custody structure explains why. Each token has one share at a regulated custodian behind it [5], so the wrapper adds a place to trade the stock. During Nasdaq hours a gap between token and share can be closed by buying one and selling the other. On a weekend only the token side is open. The same report said a sharp weekend move on bStocks lands on Nasdaq traders on Monday morning, and that the arbitrage only works smoothly when both sides are liquid [14].

The three parties are tied to each other (and the tickers do not help: StablecoinX's Nasdaq symbol, USDE, is a different instrument from Ethena's USDe stablecoin [3]). StablecoinX holds Ethena's governance token [8]. Ethena began building bStocks into USDe's backing on September 25, 91 days after StablecoinX shares first traded on Nasdaq [21]. StablecoinX's shares now trade on bStocks too [1]. Crypto Briefing wrote that in principle a period of stress could ripple through several of these connections at once [16].

The platform is younger than the stock's SPAC deal. bStocks opened on June 11, 14 days before StablecoinX closed its merger [22]. One listing shows that a fresh de-SPAC can get a round-the-clock wrapper within months of its Nasdaq debut [7].

Three outcomes are open. The token could stay thinly traded, with weekend prices drifting away from where Nasdaq opens on Monday. It could draw enough two-way trade that the custodial arbitrage holds and the gaps stay small. Or it could become where crypto holders take StablecoinX exposure in stablecoins, outside a brokerage account [2]. I'd expect the first for a company with $232.6 million of assets [11], since on weekends the token has no Nasdaq trade to check against [14]. If weekend token prices land close to Monday's Nasdaq opens week after week, that view is wrong and the wrapper works.

What to watch

  • StablecoinX's next quarterly filing, and whether total assets keep tracking the ENA stake or the company explains the distance from its $890 million PIPE.
  • Whether bStocks lists other companies that came public through SPAC mergers in 2026, turning one listing into a pattern.
  • The size of Ethena's equity basis book on bStocks, and whether it ever includes StablecoinX's own share tokens.
