A $25 billion accelerated repurchase, funded with new debt, was the biggest capital decision of the quarter. The guidance arithmetic puts second-half organic growth about where the first quarter left it.

Informatica supplied $444 million of the quarter's revenue [1], which is roughly 4.5 points of the reported growth rate [13]. Take it out and the rest of Salesforce grew about 8.5% [2]; measure in constant currency, where the reported figure was 12% [1], and the underlying rate is nearer 7.5% [13]. Current remaining performance obligation, the closest thing here to a forward book, grew 14%, or 13% in constant currency [13].
Robin Washington, president and chief financial and operating officer, said the company remains confident in delivering organic revenue acceleration in the second half of FY27 [11]. Her own guidance is hard to read that way. The second quarter is guided to $11.27bn-$11.35bn, up 10% to 11% [8], and the full year to $45.9bn-$46.2bn, up 11% [7]. Net the halves out and the second half implies about $23.6 billion of revenue, growth of roughly 10.3% [7]. Informatica's contribution shrinks from slightly above 4 points in the second quarter to about 3 points across the year [8][7], which leaves something near 8.6% organic in the second half [8], or the first quarter's rate within rounding [2].
The share count is doing what the revenue line is not. GAAP earnings per share rose 52% and non-GAAP 50% [9], about four times the reported revenue growth [11], while full-year GAAP operating margin is guided to 20.6%, below the 21.1% just printed [10]. Quarterly free cash flow was $6.6 billion, up 4% [5], so repurchases ran at 4.1 times it [3]. If the accelerated repurchase's upfront payment sits inside the $27.1 billion, ordinary open-market buying was only about $2.1 billion, roughly 8% of the total [6]. Dividends were $365 million, about 1.3% of the capital returned [3][15].
Against that, the AI line is still small. Of the nearly $3.4 billion in Agentforce and Data 360 ARR, $1.1 billion came with Informatica [12], leaving about $2.3 billion built rather than bought [10], around 5% of the revenue guided for the year [9]. Agentforce ARR of $1.2 billion grew 205% [12], a rate a revenue base this size cannot yet feel. Bookings for the Agentforce One Edition and Agentforce for Apps premium SKUs grew nearly 60% [15], off a base the company has not sized. The biggest number in the release is the buyback, and it came from the bond market rather than the business [6].

Salesforce Q1 FY27 (quarter ended April 30, 2026) revenue was $11.1 billion, up 13% Y/Y and 12% in constant currency, including a $444 million Informatica contribution.
Salesforce returned $27.5 billion to shareholders in the quarter, including $27.1 billion in share repurchases and $365 million in dividends.
Salesforce entered into a $25 billion accelerated share repurchase with upfront delivery of 103 million shares, representing approximately 80% of total shares expected to be repurchased, with final settlement expected in Q3 FY27.
Salesforce updated full-year FY27 operating cash flow and free cash flow growth guidance to approximately 4% to 5% Y/Y to reflect the impact of the $25 billion debt issuance for the accelerated share repurchase.
Q1 FY27 GAAP diluted net income per share was $2.42, up 52% Y/Y, and non-GAAP diluted net income per share was $3.88, up 50% Y/Y.
Agentforce and Data 360 ARR reached nearly $3.4 billion, up over 200% Y/Y, including $1.1 billion of Informatica Cloud ARR and $1.2 billion of Agentforce ARR, up 205% Y/Y.
Evidence-backed comparisons of source perspectives and observed adoption signals. Read the methodology
Which Builder, Operator, and Investor concerns the observed source mix emphasized—not a truth score.
Evidence, demonstrated adoption, hype gap, incentives, and confidence are assessed independently, each on its own current evidence. How these are measured.
Precise but single-sourced to the issuer
Every figure in the cluster comes from one document: Salesforce's own Q1 FY27 earnings release. The financial disclosures are specific, internally consistent and include both GAAP and non-GAAP measures, which makes the core facts (revenue, EPS, margins, cash flow, repurchases, ASR terms, RPO, guidance) reliable and checkable arithmetic. But there is no SEC filing detail, no analyst or independent reporting, and no third-party verification in the cluster, and the AI usage metrics rest on company-defined counters. That caps evidence quality below the level a multi-source or filings-backed cluster would earn.
Real revenue traction, vendor-defined usage counters
Adoption evidence is stronger than a typical AI announcement because it is denominated in ARR and bookings: $1.2 billion Agentforce ARR up 205% Y/Y, nearly $3.4 billion combined with Data 360, more than half of AI bookings from existing customers, premium agentic SKU bookings up nearly 60%, and Slack MCP past 1 million active users in six weeks. It is held back by composition and definition problems: $1.1 billion of the headline ARR is acquired Informatica Cloud ARR, leaving about $2.3 billion — roughly 5% of guided FY27 revenue — and the eye-catching volume metrics (Agentic Work Units, tokens processed, records ingested) are self-defined, cumulative and not tied to disclosed revenue or customer counts.
Framing outruns the release's own arithmetic
The release leads with 'record revenue, record deals, and cash flow', 'never been more essential', 200%-plus AI ARR growth and confidence in second-half organic acceleration. Its own numbers are more sober: 4.5 of the 13 points of growth came from Informatica, leaving about 8.5% organic; residual math on the raised guidance implies about 8.6% organic growth in the second half, essentially flat versus Q1 rather than accelerating; the 52% GAAP EPS jump is flattered by 103 million shares retired upfront under a debt-funded ASR; and full-year cash flow growth is now guided to 4%-5% against 11% revenue growth. The facts are accurate — the overstatement is in framing and metric composition, not fabrication, so the gap is material but not extreme.
Issuer-published earnings release
The sole source is the company's own investor relations newsroom, publishing its own quarterly results and guidance. Salesforce has a direct financial interest in the interpretation of these numbers, sharpened by the fact that it just committed $27.1 billion — including a $25 billion debt-funded accelerated repurchase — to buying its own shares during the quarter, and by explicit reference to on-track FY30 targets and 'maximizing shareholder value'. Metric selection (combined AI-and-data ARR including acquired revenue, cumulative work-unit and token counters, no published organic growth rate) is consistent with that incentive. No independent or adversarial source is present to offset it.
High on the numbers, low on the narrative
Confidence is high for the reported and guided financial facts, because a primary earnings release is the authoritative record for them and the derived arithmetic uses only disclosed inputs. It is much lower for the interpretive layer: whether organic growth actually accelerates in the second half, whether the vendor-defined agentic usage counters translate into durable revenue, and what the debt-funded ASR costs in interest and leverage are all unresolved with a single issuer source and no filings, analyst commentary or independent reporting in the cluster.
