Micron's long-term commitments cover only half a quarter of the revenue it now guides to

Micron guided to $61.5 billion of revenue next quarter against long-term supply commitments of $32 billion, about half of that one quarter. Investors price the uncommitted rest at about 6 to 13 times forward earnings, against 18 to 30 for Broadcom, whose custom chips sit under multi-year partnerships.

Micron expects much tighter memory supply in 2027 and 2028

Micron's latest guidance says memory and storage supply will be much tighter in 2027 and 2028 than in 2026. Teams buying hardware for those years should plan without relief, since the company says it cannot see when supply and demand will balance again.

Micron posts record $54.2 billion quarter as AI-driven memory demand outpaces supply

Micron's fiscal fourth-quarter revenue reached $54.23 billion, up from $11.32 billion a year earlier, on demand for memory in AI data centers. Guidance of about $61.5 billion for the next quarter makes memory pricing a cost that teams building AI hardware should plan for through 2027.
