Bullish routes its Bitcoin options trades into Elwood's institutional post-trade platform
Bullish now feeds Bitcoin options trades and market data into Elwood Technologies, whose platform connects to more than 40 venues, Crypto Briefing reported. The gain is operational for desks already on Elwood, and it matters to Bullish only if its open interest ranking holds.

What happened
- Elwood describes its architecture as API-first, so other systems connect programmatically without manual data entry or a custom workaround for each venue.
- Bullish launched Bitcoin options trading on or around October 8, 2025.
- Bullish ranked second worldwide in Bitcoin options open interest by early 2026.
- The Block and Laevitas, which analysts use to follow derivatives activity, began carrying Bullish's order book, open interest and volume data in April 2026.
Why it matters
- cost Crypto Briefing says each added venue costs a desk reconciliation, risk reporting and collateral tracking; a pre-integrated feed takes that cost out of the case against trading on Bullish.
- constraint Per Crypto Briefing, the link improves visibility into positions and leaves exposure to Bitcoin's price swings unchanged.
- capability Crypto Briefing says Elwood's options pricing and quote-validation tools become more useful as more options venues feed the system, so Bullish's data adds to a tool that already exists.
About six months separate the October 2025 launch from the April 2026 data listings [10]. The contracts at launch were European-style, exercisable only at expiry, and settled in USDC [7], and Crypto Briefing lists broadening beyond them as an open question [15]. The visible effort since has gone into distribution: Elwood makes three outside systems carrying Bullish's options data, alongside The Block and Laevitas [11].
How far down the post-trade chain the link runs is a separate matter. Elwood's platform spans execution management, portfolio management, risk, collateral and reconciliation across crypto venues [3]. According to Bullish, clients can see their options positions beside the rest of their portfolio [2]. The report does not say whether the risk, collateral and reconciliation functions each take Bullish data, or when the link went live.
We think the integration lowers the cost of considering Bullish and does little to decide whether a desk picks it. Elwood already connects to a long list of venues [5], so the link puts Bullish level with them on plumbing, and liquidity and pricing then decide where options flow goes. The counter-thesis is that for some desks reconciliation is the deciding constraint, and a pre-integrated feed tips a close call. A third outcome is that competitors match the integration and Bullish's ranking slips anyway.
We would change our view if Bullish held or gained open interest in the quarters after the link went live, because reconciliation would then have been the constraint after all. Neither company has published open interest or usage figures, so the record cannot settle it yet.
What to watch
- Whether Bullish or Elwood publishes usage or open interest figures that show activity after the link went live.
- Whether Bullish broadens beyond the European-style, USDC-settled contracts it launched with.
- Whether other workflow platforms announce similar options integrations, and with which venues.
