inride pitches its inbound trade-in agent with figures from its first product
inride launched Trade Agent Acquire on October 9, an AI agent that texts a trade-in value to shoppers who ask for one on a U.S. dealer's website. The 63% engagement rate in its release was measured on inride's first product, Trade Agent AI, so dealers buying the new agent are judging it on another product's numbers.

What happened
- inride's first product, Trade Agent AI, works outbound, mining dealership customer records for likely trades and contacting past buyers.
- Trade Agent AI's reported results also show 44% of conversations happening outside operating hours and 52% of appointments ending in an acquisition.
- A September 22 release put Trade Agent AI at more than 75 rooftops and more than one million text conversations.
- inride reports its first signed dealership customers but has not named them or given a count.
- Trade Agent Acquire is sold month-to-month with no setup fee or long-term commitment. The announcement did not disclose a price.

Why it matters
- decision A dealer weighing Acquire has to run its own trial to get a number for it, since every published rate describes Trade Agent AI in a single market.
- cost Month-to-month terms with no setup fee limit a failed trial to the fees already paid, but with no published price a dealer cannot size that loss in advance.
- exposure Each install puts another vendor between the dealer's valuation widget and its CRM, with access to shopper phone numbers, and the dealer has to manage and audit that vendor.
Trade Agent Acquire sits behind whatever valuation tool a dealer already runs on its website. After a shopper asks for a trade-in value, inride describes this sequence [1]:
1. The dealer's existing valuation tool collects the shopper's phone number. 2. The agent sends a vehicle value by text or email. 3. It continues the conversation, confirms the vehicle's condition and answers questions. 4. It routes the booked appointment and the conversation history into the dealer's CRM.
I think inride drew the integration boundary in the right place. According to the company, a dealer can keep the valuation widget it has and does not have to take on a new CRM or dealer management system, and the agent can go live in days [2]. Its input is one field the widget already captured. Its output is a record in a system the sales floor already reads. A store asked to swap its widget and its CRM before seeing one booked appointment has an easy reason to say no.
The product extends a stated thesis. inride says it wants dealers to source more used inventory from customer relationships they already have, leaning less on the auction channel [13]. Acquire aims that at shoppers who come to the dealer's site asking what their car is worth [13].
The launch figures were measured somewhere else. They come from Trade Agent AI's integration with ACV's ClearCar in the Washington, D.C. market [9]. A September 22 release credited the same 63% engagement and 52% appointment-to-acquisition rates to Koons Motors [11]. Alex Perdikis, inride's founder and chairman, owns and operates Koons Motors [5].
The release did not disclose the sample size, the measurement period, a comparison group or a booking rate [9][10]. Without the booking rate, the 63% and the 52% cannot be multiplied into a share of leads that became cars on the lot.
The after-hours pitch splits the funnel in two. By inride's count, 56% of conversations took place during operating hours [15]. For conversations after close, the agent covers hours when the store is shut. For the daytime share, it competes with the dealer's own staff, and its value there depends on answering faster or better than they do.
For the published rates to transfer, two things would have to hold at a new store. Its web leads would have to engage the way the D.C. leads did [9]. The sales staff would also have to turn appointments into acquisitions at the rate Koons reported [11].
What to watch
- Named Trade Agent Acquire customers outside Koons Motors publishing rates with a sample size, period and comparison group.
- A published monthly price for Trade Agent Acquire.
- Whether inride extends the agent lineup into service and F&I workflows, as runtimewire reports it plans to.
