Listed 128GB RTX Spark laptops start at $5,109, nearly twice the $2,599 entry model
Nvidia's RTX Spark laptops ship October 16 from $2,599, while 128GB configurations from HP and Asus list at $5,109 to $6,999.99, Tom's Hardware reported. Teams buying for local models will have to order that capacity from maker web stores and check every listing for core counts.

What happened
- Asus sells the 16-inch ProArt P16 from its own web store at $4,499.99 with 64GB of unified memory.
- Listings call both parts "RTX Spark N1X", so buyers have to read each product description to find the core counts.
- Microsoft sells the Surface Laptop Ultra with up to 128GB directly, while B&H appears to carry only lower-memory configurations and may ship later.
- Most RTX Spark configurations, the Surface Laptop Ultra among them, top out at 1TB of storage.

Why it matters
- cost Choosing HP over Asus at 128GB saves $1,890.99 a seat for teams that can work with 1TB of storage instead of 2TB.
- constraint Fleets standardised on Dell or Lenovo are held to Best Buy's 64GB ceiling at launch, so getting 128GB means switching maker or waiting.
- decision Purchase orders have to name CPU and GPU core counts, because the memory tier alone does not reliably tell a buyer which chip ships.
HP's 14-inch OmniBook X is the cheapest 128GB machine with a published price in Tom's Hardware's roundup. At $5,109 it costs 1.97 times the $2,599 entry model, an Asus ProArt P14 with 24GB [11][2][17].
On the Asus side, going from 64GB to 128GB on the ProArt P16 costs $2,500 [18]. The 128GB unit ships with 2TB of storage [4]. So $2,500 is the most Asus can be charging for the extra 64GB of memory [23].
The cut chip gives up 1,024 of the full part's 6,144 GPU cores, about 17 percent, and two of its 20 CPU cores [20]. Tom's Hardware has seen it only in 24GB and 32GB machines, and every listing at 48GB or above has the full chip [6]. On that observation, Best Buy's top listing, the 48GB Surface Laptop Ultra at $3,999, carries the full chip [2][6]. HP breaks the pattern. Its 32GB configuration gets the 5,120-core GPU, and its other configurations, 24GB among them, get all 6,144 cores [12][21]. It is the rare spec sheet where the smaller memory option has the bigger GPU. Jake Roach, Tom's Hardware's senior CPU analyst, wrote: "Pay close attention to which you are pre-ordering." [16]
I'd plan a local-model budget on capacity first, because capacity is what moves these prices [2][3][4]. Whether $5,109 buys enough machine depends on two conditions. The team's models have to fit in 128GB, and 6,144 Blackwell cores have to run them fast enough [12]. The listings Tom's Hardware compiled cover capacity, core counts, storage and price. They do not include memory bandwidth or model throughput.
What to watch
- Microsoft's direct price for the 128GB Surface Laptop Ultra, the one 128GB option whose price has not been reported.
- Whether Dell and Lenovo open direct listings with 128GB configurations after the October 16 ship date.
- Memory capacities and prices for the small form factor RTX Spark desktops due after launch.
