Company
Zondacrypto is a Polish cryptocurrency exchange formerly branded BitBay and Zonda, which collapsed into bankruptcy amid regulatory scrutiny.
Zondacrypto's operating entity is being wound up in Estonia with about 167,000 euros of assets against 432 million euros of debt, while the seized cash and property sit with prosecutors in Poland and France. Just under 2,000 creditors have filed so far.
Reality
Polish prosecutors detained three more people over the Zondacrypto collapse and ordered cars, valuables and cash seized, and the justice minister's stated interest is what those three know about the exchange's missing founder.
Reality
Poland's MiCA-aligning bill has been vetoed three times since December 2025. That is why roughly $94 million of Zondacrypto customer money now sits behind prosecutors rather than a licensing regime, and it is why the vote count matters more than the rulebook.
Reality
Prosecutors are treating the Patek Philippe as a line of inquiry rather than a finding, which is still enough to put an Olympic sponsorship contract at the centre of a case over €81.4 million of client money. Piesiewicz denies it.
Reality
A licence certifies anti-money-laundering paperwork, not the existence of the coins. Estonia's own regulator said so, roughly three months after users lost access.
Reality
Poland's largest crypto exchange has changed names twice since its founder vanished in 2022. Neither change moves the roughly 4,500 BTC reportedly under his personal control.
