Fitbit Edge's $80 premium over the Air pays for more than a screen

Google is selling the Fitbit Edge at $179.99, $80 more than the screenless $99.99 Fitbit Air, with shipping from Oct. 27. The extra $80 covers more than a display, and a year of the optional Google Health Premium subscription costs more than the gap.

Google sets an October 12 launch for the Fitbit Edge, rumored at $180

Google confirmed an October 12 launch for the Fitbit Edge, a tracker that leaks price at about $180. That sits well under the $400 Pixel Watch 5, 9to5Google noted, so buyers who want health sensors at tracker prices get a Google option to check on Monday.

Leaked Fitbit Edge prices put Google's new tracker with a screen €80 above the Air

Google's Fitbit Edge will sell for €179 in Europe and £159 in the UK, according to a Dealabs leak, or about $180 in the US by 9to5Google's estimate. The roughly $80 premium over the screen-free Fitbit Air buys a display with Google Play access.

Google's leaked Fitbit Edge targets the $300 gap between Fitbit Air and Pixel Watch

Google's leaked Fitbit Edge puts a seven-day tracker between the $99.99 Fitbit Air and the $399.99 Pixel Watch. A Charge 6 bought now at $159.95 is likely the last of a line Google last refreshed in 2023.
