Circle urges the EU to replace MiCA's bank-deposit minimum for stablecoin reserves

Circle told the European Commission that only 3 of the world's top 25 stablecoins are authorized under MiCA, in its response to the law's review. Circle issues two of the three, and it ties the gap to bank-deposit and concentration rules it wants loosened.

Manufacturers selling into the EU now owe ENISA a 24-hour warning on exploited flaws

The Cyber Resilience Act's vulnerability reporting duties are already in force, well before the December 2027 date that governs most of the regulation, and they sit alongside five other disclosure regimes whose clocks start differently.

Google's AI Overview pilot pays small publishers about a tenth of a percent of their ad revenue

Google's pilot paying about 100 publishers for AI Overview use returns small and mid-sized members roughly a tenth of a percent of their ad revenue. For most members the check cannot stand in for lost clicks, so the case for joining rests on the usage data and on what a site covers.

Google appeals the EU's search-data and Android order on privacy and security grounds

Google has appealed an EU DMA order that would make it share search data with rivals from January 2027 and open Android to rival AI services. Its case rests on user privacy and Android security, claims the EU's top court now has to weigh against a competition order.

Central banks and 50,000 letter-writers pull MiCA's stablecoin yield ban in opposite directions

Stand With Crypto EU got more than 50,000 Europeans to write to the Commission's MiCA review asking that stablecoins be allowed to pay holders rewards. Europe's central banks used the same review to ask that the ban also cover lending, borrowing and staking yield, so the rule could end up wider as easily as looser.

Grid connections will pace the EU's 200 billion euro data center buildout

Brussels wants EU data center capacity to go from about 12 GW to over 27 GW in five to seven years, on roughly 200 billion euros of mostly private money. The sector's 2030 electricity projection fits a much smaller fleet, so grid connections that take years are the likelier limit on how fast that money is spent.

Google appeals EU search-data orders about three months before the first deadline

Google took the EU to the General Court over orders to share search data with rivals by January 2027 and open Android to rival AI services by July 2027. Rival search engines and AI developers counting on that data now face a court case over how much of it survives anonymisation.

US Justice Department asks EU court to let it argue X's side against the first DSA fine

US Justice Department lawyers have asked to join X's court challenge to its 120 million euro EU fine, the first penalty under the Digital Services Act. Before any argument on the merits, a Luxembourg court has to decide whether Washington may join the case at all.

Germany makes Apple neutralise its tracking prompts, and your consent-rate baseline just expired

The Bundeskartellamt took binding commitments instead of a fine: neutral wording for third-party prompts, one dialog instead of two, across almost all of the EU. Re-model opt-in assumptions now.
