Broadcom's AI chip sales edge past Intel's entire quarterly revenue

Broadcom's AI chip revenue rose 221% to $16.7 billion, 56% of its quarterly total, and it guided next quarter to about $34.8 billion. Strip out AI and the rest of Broadcom grew about 20%, slower than Intel's 25%, so the sharpest contrast in these results sits inside Broadcom itself.

Micron's long-term commitments cover only half a quarter of the revenue it now guides to

Micron guided to $61.5 billion of revenue next quarter against long-term supply commitments of $32 billion, about half of that one quarter. Investors price the uncommitted rest at about 6 to 13 times forward earnings, against 18 to 30 for Broadcom, whose custom chips sit under multi-year partnerships.

OpenAI's first chip beat merchant silicon in 16 months. The moat was never the fab

Jalapeno's lead is measured against last generation and the volumes are tiny, but a first-pass ASIC clearing Nvidia, AMD and Google parts reprices the design barrier, not the supply chain.

Nvidia's $12.9B Hugging Face deal turns a neutral registry into a vendor dependency

The Information puts the price at about 86 times run rate. Reuters says nothing has closed. Either way, teams that pull weights by repo ID now have a silicon vendor in the artifact path.

MediaTek will wire custom XPUs into NVIDIA's scale-up fabric as a prevalidated block

NVIDIA is licensing the Fusion chiplet, its C2C CPU attach and NVHBM to MediaTek and buying $3.5 billion of its convertible bonds, so the quickest route to a custom accelerator now ends inside an NVIDIA rack.

Nvidia underwrites MediaTek's custom-accelerator business with $3.5bn of convertible debt

Nvidia's money buys bonds that can convert into MediaTek equity. The return that matters is NVLink Fusion, which routes every custom accelerator MediaTek designs for a hyperscaler back into an Nvidia rack. The bond terms were not disclosed.

Anthropic cuts Fable 5.1 prices by 25% and launches two-tier safeguard system with Mythos 5.1

The saving comes off cache reads, so it lands unevenly across teams, and the model's most sensitive capability now reaches users through a credential issued by an access program, not a purchase order a budget holder can sign off alone. Both changes move the decision away from the budget holder.

Six customers underwrite Broadcom's $230bn AI chip target for 2028

Custom silicon made up 73% of the $16.7bn AI quarter. Hock Tan says that line doubles twice by fiscal 2028. He has already secured wafers and memory through 2028 to serve promises only six buyers have made.

Nvidia's $12.9 billion buys the model registry 200,000 companies deploy from

Huang promises Nvidia compute will never be required to build or deploy on the Hub, and I believe him. The pledge says nothing about pricing, rate limits or defaults, which is where a registry actually steers work.
