Schneider Electric raises 2026 guidance a second time after 16.9% organic growth in the third quarter

Schneider Electric reported third-quarter revenue of €11.46 billion, up 16.9% organically, and raised its 2026 targets for the second time. Data-center orders are now about 30% of the total, so more of the outlook rests on hyperscaler budgets.

What happened

  • Revenue came in ahead of the €11.13 billion consensus expectation.
  • Data-center orders posted triple-digit growth inside the Energy Management segment, which grew about 19% organically.
  • China and East Asia led regionally with 26% organic growth, and North America followed with 20%, driven by hyperscaler spending.
  • Schneider now expects full-year organic revenue growth of 12-14%, adjusted EBITA growth of 18-21% and margin expansion of 100-120 basis points.
  • The company closed the quarter with an all-time high backlog.

Why it matters

  • Who's exposed exposure With data-center orders near 30% of the total, Crypto Briefing says Schneider is now more sensitive to how hyperscalers plan their capital spending.
  • What doesn't add up contradiction Schneider says every end-market showed healthy demand, so the 16.9% cannot be assigned to AI alone, and the source gives no growth rate for the other 70% of orders.
  • What's now possible capability Management has reported visibility into 2027-2028, according to Crypto Briefing, so the demand case is being made for the years after 2026 as well as for this year's range.

The revenue beat is small: €0.33 billion over consensus, or about 3.0% [13][14]. The guidance moved more. The previous ranges were 10-13% for organic revenue growth and 14-19% for adjusted EBITA growth, so the floors rose by two and four points and the ceilings by one and two [7][8][18]. Midpoints went from 11.5% to 13% on revenue and from 16.5% to 19.5% on EBITA, and the ranges narrowed to two points and three points wide from three and five [15][16][17].

Schneider is not extrapolating the quarter. Crypto Briefing calls 16.9% the company's fastest growth in five years [21], and it sits 3.9 points above the new 13% midpoint [20]. Treat the four quarters as equal in size and a full-year result at the 14% ceiling leaves the other three averaging about 13.0% [19]. Crypto Briefing's account does not include first-half growth, a backlog figure or a split between power and cooling, so how much of that gap is a slower first half and how much a slower fourth quarter cannot be worked out from it.

In our view the order data back the idea that AI spending is reaching power and cooling suppliers. Schneider sells power distribution, uninterruptible power supplies, server racks, prefabricated solutions and cooling [11], and the 20% North American growth is attributed to hyperscaler spending [5]. The counter-thesis is that Schneider said all of its end-markets showed healthy demand [6], so the 16.9% may not be an AI number alone.

The view is wrong if data-center orders slow while the backlog converts to revenue more slowly than the 12-14% range assumes [7]. It is also wrong if full-year organic growth finishes under 12%, the bottom of the new range [7]. The evidence here is on orders, and the guidance is on revenue and profit. Schneider has not yet shown the two moving together for a full year.

What to watch

  • Fourth-quarter organic growth against the 12-14% full-year range, since the 14% ceiling implies the other three quarters averaged about 13.0%.
  • Whether Schneider publishes a backlog figure and a data-center share of revenue, not only of orders.
  • Hyperscaler capital spending plans, which drive the 20% North American growth and the roughly 30% order share.
