Netflix will show all 104 matches of the 2030 World Cup in Spain, with the final also on free TV
Netflix said Tuesday it has secured the rights to all 104 matches of the 2030 World Cup in Spain and Andorra. It did not disclose a price, and a free-to-air broadcaster still to be named will also make available every Spain match, both semifinals and the final.

One match per matchday will be free in Spain via a national free-to-air broadcaster. Netflix holds exclusive rights to stream all 104 matches in Spain and Andorra. Spain is one of 3 host countries, with Morocco and Portugal.

|---|---|---|---|

What happened
- Netflix plans full live coverage, with pre-game, halftime and post-game shows, a daily round-up on match days and programming in the lead-up to the tournament.
- Netflix said the deal would be its first broadcast of a major men's international tournament in Spain.
- The company's live sports portfolio already includes NFL games, MLB, WWE, and boxing and MMA events.
Why it matters
- constraint Netflix gets no subscription pull from Spain's games, the semifinals or the final, because the free-to-air partner will make them available without a subscription.
- decision The free-to-air partner is still open. RTVE showed the 2026 tournament, and Netflix has not said whether it will be the 2030 partner.
- exposure Investors have only a premarket gain of about 1% to judge the deal by, and the sources do not tie that move to the announcement.
- contradiction Qz ties both Women's World Cups, 2027 and 2031, to U.S. and Canadian viewers, while CNA places the 2027 tournament in Brazil, so Netflix's FIFA footprint depends on which account is right.
Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria said in a statement: "With Spain set to host in 2030, we're thrilled to bring every match to fans across Spain and Andorra on Netflix." [11] Every match will be on the service [1], but not only there. One match per matchday is free in Spain [4], and a package of every Spain match, both semifinals and the final goes to a free-to-air broadcaster as well [3]. We think that package holds the best-watched fixtures in the country, an inference from which games were named and not a figure either source gave.
Netflix did not disclose financial terms [2], so there is no fee to divide by the 104 matches [1]. That denominator is wrong anyway, or rather right only if every match were sold the same way. A match that also airs on free television should be worth less to a subscription service than one only it can show, and the free list here includes every Spain game, both semifinals and the final [3].
Netflix lists NFL games, MLB, WWE, and boxing and MMA events in its live sports portfolio [8]. Add the Women's World Cups of 2027 and 2031 [16] and the 2030 men's rights in Spain and Andorra, and Netflix holds three FIFA tournaments [14]. Mattias Grafström, FIFA's secretary general, said in a statement: "We are pleased to build on our partnership with Netflix as we look ahead to the FIFA World Cup 2030." [12]
That supports a story about Netflix assembling live events a territory at a time. It supports less of a story about streamers as a group, since neither source names another one, and "major markets" stretches a deal covering Spain and Andorra [1]. Spain is one of three host countries, alongside Morocco and Portugal [13], and Bloomberg said media rights for other regions, including the U.S., have not yet been announced [10]. The counter-thesis is that Spain is the first of several announcements, and it may be. If Netflix adds the U.S. or another large market for the 2030 men's tournament, we would drop the territory-by-territory reading.
What to watch
- A disclosed fee would allow a cost-per-exclusive-match calculation, and a payment from the free-to-air partner would change what the carve-out costs Netflix.
- The tournament schedule set against the free-to-air list will show how many of the 104 matches only Netflix carries.
