Gemini Notebook's mobile Live Chat now reaches all Google AI Pro users
Google has finished rolling out Gemini Notebook's mobile Live Chat to 100% of Google AI Pro users, according to its rollout announcement. Teams already on Pro can start a mobile trial over their notebook sources now instead of waiting for their accounts to be reached.

What happened
- Live Chat lets eligible users hold a live, natural conversation on mobile inside a notebook's existing sources and outputs.
- Google's wider updates describe Gemini Notebook and NotebookLM integration across the Gemini app, alongside cross-app notebook features.
- The dev.to report on the rollout does not include subscription prices, country availability, or a feature-by-feature comparison of the plans.

Why it matters
- cost Ultra seats are unnecessary for mobile notebook conversation, so the only spend question is whether the people who need it already hold Pro.
- constraint Mobile workflows that depend on third-party connections, customer interaction or automated actions cannot be planned on Live Chat yet, because the evidence confirms none of them.
- exposure With shared notebooks on staff phones, more people can query company material away from a desk, so access rules and output checks have to extend to mobile use.
A completed rollout is the least glamorous line in a launch post and the most useful one for a schedule. During a phased release, a Pro user who cannot find Live Chat has two possible explanations: the tier lacks it, or the account has not been reached yet. The dev.to writeup describes that phase as one where users see a feature announced but cannot yet access it [5]. With the rollout at 100% of Pro users, the second explanation is gone for Pro accounts [2].
What remains is the tier gate. Google's Help documentation limits mobile live, natural chat in Gemini Notebook to Google AI Ultra and Google AI Pro subscribers [3]. An account on any other plan is outside the documented capability [2].
The modality needs confirming before anyone designs a hands-free workflow around this. The writeup describes the feature as "live, natural conversations with notebook content" [12]. A chat label and that phrase do not by themselves establish spoken input. I would test it on a live Pro account before writing voice into anyone's process.
The trial the writeup proposes is the right size. It starts with one notebook built around a repeatable task, such as a project brief or a set of internal reference material. A small group uses the mobile conversation feature for a defined period, and the team then compares whether it found and understood the notebook's information more efficiently [10]. I would add one measure: how often an answer given on a phone was later rechecked at a desk.
In my view the notebook with the best-kept sources is the one to test on. A team without Pro seats is making a purchase. The writeup advises consulting current Google account and subscription information before treating the feature as a purchasing decision [13].
What to watch
- A Google plan comparison showing whether Ultra changes how Gemini Notebook Live Chat behaves on mobile.
- Country availability for the Pro rollout, to settle whether a given team's region is covered by the 100% figure.
- Google documentation confirming spoken input for mobile Live Chat, or connections to third-party apps and automated actions.
