Block's Lightning work gives the x402 agent-payment standard a bitcoin rail beside stablecoins

Block joined the x402 Foundation on Sept. 24 and is adding Bitcoin Lightning to the agent-payment protocol Coinbase built for stablecoins. The move puts a second settlement asset, and a second large payments company, into a standard its creator handed to the Linux Foundation this year.

Claude Code's AGENTS.md fallback can be disabled by version, settings, or first-run conditions, not just feature-flag fetches

Anthropic shipped the AGENTS.md fallback in Claude Code 2.1.277 as a flag-gated built-in mod. Two machines on the same pinned version can load different project instructions. The same week's digest also logs a reverted deny-rule fix.

Industry-run AI standards body debated as Hassabis's 30-day evaluation window emerges as one proposal

Anthropic, OpenAI and Google have had working groups meeting since July on a safety standards body they would run themselves, after the White House route stalled. The only cost anyone has published is a 30-day review.
