Plane's own calculator puts a 10-person Jira and Confluence stack at $2,084 a year

Ten seats of Plane Cloud Pro at $6 per seat per month is $720 a year ^[4][18]. That $720 is exactly the Plane side of the vendor's comparison, so the calculator assumes list price with no annual discount ^[8]. The other side, roughly $2,084 a year for Jira plus Confluence, is Plane's figure for a competitor's products ^[8]. The post does not say which Atlassian plan tiers that figure assumes, and it does not list a price for Plane One ^[22]. For the $2,084 to transfer, you need ten people on both Atlassian products at whatever plan levels the calculator picked.

Move up one tier and the saving changes size. Business is $13 per seat per month ^[4], which is $1,560 a year for the same ten people ^[19]. Against $2,084 that saves $524, or about a quarter off ^[20]. The 65 percent figure holds only while Pro covers what you need ^[8][21].

The cloud Free plan stops at 12 users ^[3]. A thirteenth person moves the team onto Pro, $936 a year at list ^[24]. The edition with no user cap and no license fee is the self-hosted Community Edition ^[3], which the review says costs nothing beyond your own infrastructure ^[12]. Installation is Docker from the official self-hosting docs, and Kubernetes manifests exist for larger setups ^[11]. Self-hosted instances are administered through a built-in console that Plane calls God mode, covering instance settings in one place ^[10].

The repository is AGPL-3.0 and held 58,544 stars when the review was verified on 2026-08-30 ^[5].
