Injective's real-world-asset perpetuals traded $214.9 million over 30 days, 3.5 times May's total, though the climb was over by July and its $5.3 billion cumulative figure averages more per month than the latest one.

Why it matters
- contradiction The cumulative $5.3 billion averages about $265 million a month over 20 months, more than any single month reported, so either 2025 ran hotter than May 2026 or the two figures count different things.
- constraint With 82 percent of the RWA listings tracking single-name equities, a quiet quarter in stock trading interest reaches most of Injective's RWA book at once.
- exposure A trader taking this exposure holds a USDC-settled claim and gives up dividends, shareholder rights and the protections attached to a brokerage account.
- capability Someone in Singapore or Lagos can now hold leveraged Nvidia or Tesla exposure while the 6.5-hour, five-day US session is shut.
The May-to-July move was 3.04 times [2]. July to the latest 30-day window is 1.15 times [3], and against August the newest figure is up 2.5 percent [4]. Cryptobriefing.com calls the run "a 3.4x increase in about three months" [5]; carried to the trailing window it is 3.50 times [1]. Both numbers are right. Nearly all of the climb had happened by July.
Annualised, the latest month runs at about $2.58 billion a year [5]. The same report says broader onchain synthetic products pushed quarterly volumes into the hundreds of billions during 2026 [12]. Injective's implied quarterly run rate of roughly $645 million is about 0.32 percent of a $200 billion quarter [6], and $200 billion is the floor of the range the report describes.
Spread across the 135 listed markets, the latest month works out to $1.59 million per market, or roughly $53,000 a day [8]. Equities are 82 percent of those listings [9]. Matching happens on a central limit order book paired with frequent batch auctions, a combination Injective uses to reduce front-running and tighten execution [8]. The $5.3 billion of RWA perpetual volume is also about 84 percent of the $6.3 billion of total onchain activity the report gives through mid-2026 [10], though the two figures are reported over different windows [9][10].
Cryptobriefing.com's reading is that onchain RWA has moved past the tokenized Treasury phase of 2024 and early 2025, and that traders now want active, leveraged exposure to the assets they follow [15]. The first half of that describes the listings. The second is a claim about demand, and it rests on turnover: perpetuals have no expiration date and carry leverage [16], so a dollar of margin can print notional several times inside a month, and a 3.5x volume figure fits a wider base of traders as easily as it fits the same base trading harder.
I think the flattening is the more informative half of this data, and the counter-thesis lives in the same numbers: 135 markets and a batch-auction book can carry far more than $215 million a month, and two flat prints in a northern summer are not a plateau. INJ is up 40 percent year to date as of September 2026 [11].
What to watch
- The September and October 30-day prints: above $240 million puts the May-to-July slope back, another figure near $215 million confirms the plateau.
- Whether Injective publishes open interest alongside volume, which would show how much capital is behind the notional.
- Monthly fee revenue, if disclosed, tested against the 40 percent year-to-date move in INJ.
