Gemini Notebook's Reports tab now generates quizzes and flashcards from a notebook's own sources

Open a notebook and the generated material sits in the Reports tab, next to summaries of the sources it came from: infographics, quizzes, flashcards, mind maps ^[5]. A user reviewing a quiz stays in the notebook instead of moving to a separate screen or tool, according to a dev.to account of Google's Workspace Updates post ^[6]. Google describes mobile recorder notes as staying alongside sources for citation ^[7].

The account does not say whether anyone checks that a generated quiz answer is correct. So the cost of putting this material in front of staff is a review pass per artifact, and the reviewer is whoever owns the source set. The write-up's own advice is to start with one specific learning or knowledge-sharing use case and a small pilot built on a stable set of approved source material ^[13]. It lists onboarding, sales enablement, product education and research preparation as candidates, provided the underlying sources are appropriate for the task ^[15].

Google's dates leave three days between the start of rollout activity and its note that the features were becoming broadly visible to end users ^[16]. The Workspace Updates announcement says some domains may see extended rollout timing ^[4]. It also says administrators may need to enable Gemini Notebook ^[14]. Staff see Interactive Learning Overviews only where an administrator has switched that control on.

Real-time notebook conversations run in the mobile app for users aged 18 and over in nearly 100 languages ^[8]. For that to matter to an onboarding cohort, the approved documents and the people reading them have to sit inside those languages, and the notebook has to be where they ask their questions instead of Slack. Expanded quiz formats also ship, along with the ability to chat about quiz performance to focus further study ^[11].
