Japan buys back 210,000 tons of rice as private stocks swing from 1.5 million to 2.43 million

Japan is buying back 210,000 tons of rice to refill its reserves after private stocks swung from 1.5 million to 2.43 million tons in two years. The purchase covers about half the stock above the normal 2 million tons, so prices can keep falling from their 2025 peak.
