Antarctic soil hands microbiology's 'everything is everywhere' rule a controlled exception

Nick Dragone's team sequenced more than 100 Antarctic Arthrobacter strains and found 90 percent with no match anywhere else, a result whose strength rests on how thoroughly the rest of the world has been sampled.
