Genoa team's two-protein blood test correctly sorted fever causes in all 85 babies tested

Tommaso Bellini's Genoa team says a CD64/CD169 blood test caught all 15 bacterial infections among 85 feverish babies in 15 to 20 minutes. Fifteen cases still allow a true detection rate as low as 78 per cent, so a larger trial must come before doctors hold back antibiotics.
