Aardwolf's first chromosome map shows hyenas kept most of the layout they share with cats
Texas A&M researchers built the first detailed aardwolf chromosome map and found 12 of the cat's 19 chromosomes match single aardwolf chromosomes. The map also gives researchers a guide for ordering an aardwolf genome that is still split into about 5,600 fragments.
