The weight figure deserves a second look because it is the only hardware delta with a number attached. The review says the Pixel 11 is 6g lighter [8], then gives the weights as 197g and 204g [7], which is 7g, or about 3.4 percent of the older phone's mass [1]. That is the scale of difference a case erases.
Silicon does not fill the gap. The reviewer calls Tensor G5 to G6 not much of a leap, with games running at acceptable levels [11], and notes that neither phone lands near the top of the performance charts, which he treats as a fair complaint given what Google charges [12]. So the differentiator has migrated from what the newer phone can do to which phones Google permits to do it.
