Redemptions cut the SPAC's proceeds from about $500m to $360m. Pasqal still lands with roughly 19 times its 2025 revenue in the bank, and that cash cushion is the part of the pitch a pilot customer is actually underwriting.

A corporate innovation group weighing a quantum pilot renewal has to defend that line item at the next budget review. The number that helps is the 309m euros of cash the company now holds against 16.5m euros of 2025 revenue [3][6], which is about 19 times one year of sales sitting in the bank [1]. What a pilot customer buys from a vendor at this stage is duration, and Pasqal has bought a lot of it.
Chief executive Wasiq Bokhari called the listing "not a finish line; it is an acceleration point" [11], and the proceeds are earmarked for manufacturing capacity at Palaiseau, fault tolerance work, the cloud and software platform, and integration with classical high-performance computing [12]. That is the thing being pitched. The thing being done is seven neutral-atom processors in the field, three more in production, and more than 25 commercial and research applications [8]. Spread 16.5m euros across 25 of those and the average is under 660,000 euros [2], which prices like a funded research relationship rather than a production system. The named logos, Saudi Aramco, Credit Agricole CIB and LG Electronics among them [9], show who signed contracts, not who renewed them.
Redemption is the mechanism by which SPAC shareholders decline to come along and take their money back instead [5], and it removed $140m from the projected $500m, 28 percent of the anticipated gross proceeds [3]. Those holders were reading the same document that concedes commercial traction for quantum computing may never occur [7]. TNW reports, citing Reuters, that shares surged on the debut [2]. Both things happened, to different populations: the people who had to fund the balance sheet, and the people who could buy a ticker on Friday.
For anyone routing a purchase order, two partnerships do more work than the physics. Pasqal is tied to Nvidia on the classical side and sits inside the IBM Quantum Network [10], the two ecosystems that currently decide how quantum hardware reaches customers. And by TNW's figures, 309m euros is roughly 29 percent of the 1.05bn euros Europe's quantum sector raised across the year [15][4]. A supplier holding close to a third of its continent's annual sector funding is unlikely to vanish mid-contract, which is the most useful promise a quantum vendor can make right now.
The forcing function is straightforward: what happens at the review after next if fault tolerance slips two years and the share price halves. If the sentence a customer says then is "we funded access to a hardware team, and we got two trained engineers and a benchmark we can reuse," the pilot is priced correctly. If it is "we expected this in production by now," the customer is underwriting the roadmap rather than the pilot, and the filings have already told you what they think of that [7].

Pasqal began trading on Nasdaq on Friday under the ticker PSQL, five months after announcing it would go public through a special purpose acquisition company.
The merger with Bleichroeder Acquisition Corp. II closed on 27 August, a day after shareholders approved it, leaving the company with roughly $360m in cash, or 309m euros.
The filings had anticipated about $500m in gross proceeds.
Redemption is the mechanism by which SPAC shareholders decline to come along and take their money back instead.
The deal was struck in March at $2bn pre-money against 2025 revenue of 16.5m euros, a multiple of roughly 100 times.
The filings themselves conceded that commercial traction for quantum computing may never occur.

Evidence-backed comparisons of source perspectives and observed adoption signals. Read the methodology

Evidence, demonstrated adoption, hype gap, incentives, and confidence are assessed independently, each on its own current evidence. How these are measured.
One reader of the prospectus
Every load figure — $360m, the $500m projection, €16.5m of revenue, seven machines, three named customers — reaches us through The Next Web reading deal filings and listing-day disclosure. The documentary facts are firm and dated, which is why this does not score lower. But the only market observation, the debut surge, is passed through from Reuters with no price attached, and the softer framing (a continental funding total, the volatility of earlier quantum listings) carries no source at all.
Real installations, pilot-sized cheques
This is not a roadmap company: seven machines are in the field, three more are being built, and Aramco, Crédit Agricole CIB and LG Electronics are named rather than hinted at. The ceiling is the money. Spread €16.5m of 2025 revenue across more than 25 applications and the average is under €660,000 — procurement-experiment scale, not production budgets — and the Nvidia and IBM ties tell you the hardware is reaching customers through other people's channels.
The pitch outruns the revenue, and the reporting says so
A $2bn pre-money mark on €16.5m of revenue is roughly 100 times, and the filings underneath it concede commercial traction may never occur — a company arguing both sides of its own case. 'Today is not a finish line; it is an acceleration point' is doing work that seven installed machines and pilot-scale invoices cannot yet do. The gap sits in the offering, not in the account of it: The Next Web calls the revenue line a rounding error and leads with the redemption shortfall, which is why this lands at moderate rather than severe.
Everyone in the frame just sold something
The customer list, the fleet count, the atom milestone, the five spending priorities and the chief executive's quote all originate with a company that closed an equity sale the day before, and the filings behind them were written to get a vote passed. On the other side, a €500m state programme and a Bpifrance board seat give the French side its own reason to book this as a win. The redemption shortfall is the one number no participant wanted printed, and it is the most informative fact in our coverage precisely for that reason.
Firm on the record, thin on the reading
Ticker, closing date, cash balance, board composition and the veto are the kind of facts that get corrected fast if wrong, and none of them are in dispute. What we cannot stand behind is anything needing a second pair of eyes or a missing figure: how far the shares actually moved, whether €309m funds three years or seven, whether more than 25 applications convert into revenue that changes the multiple. One publisher, largely working from the prospectus, so we hold this in the middle.
