Madrid marchers seek limits on evictions after a fund raised an 87-year-old's rent 5.3-fold

Tens of thousands marched in Madrid after an 87-year-old was evicted from a flat whose fund owner had raised her rent from 500 to 2,650 euros. With a general election due in 2027, their call for a ban on evictions without rehousing has become a pricing question for every institutional landlord in Spain.
