Shadow DOM

Shadow DOM is a W3C Web Components standard that lets developers attach an encapsulated DOM subtree (a shadow root) to an element via attachShadow, isolating its markup and styles from the rest of the page. 'Closed' mode further restricts external script access to that shadow tree.
