Dog brains follow consonants to find words in unbroken speech, as human brains do
ELTE researchers found dog brains tracked consonant-built nonsense words 42% more strongly than vowel-built ones, a bias previously seen only in humans. Every dog lived with Hungarian speakers, so the study cannot yet say whether hearing speech is what put the bias there.
